Spring Maple Syrup Season Farm Tours at Matter's Farm to Table
Join us for a special, limited-time Spring Maple Syrup Season Farm Tour at Matter's Farm to Table in Delano, Minnesota! This is your chance to experience the magic of our working family farm during the heart of maple sugaring season, when the sap flows and the woods come alive.
Tour Highlights:
- Start in our dairy barn, where we'll introduce you to our friendly dairy animals, explain calf care and daily routines, and meet the cows up close.
- Venture into the beautiful woods to learn all about maple syrup production—from tapping trees and collecting sap to the boiling process that turns it into our award-winning pure maple syrup.
- Meet our happy chickens and curious goats along the way.
- Enjoy a delicious tasting experience: We'll sample 8 different varieties of our pure maple syrups (exploring the unique flavors and grades from light to dark) and 2 homemade maple mustards—a sweet and savory treat straight from the farm!
- Wrap up back at the farm with the opportunity to purchase our fresh, farm-direct goods, including maple products, eggs, beef, and more—straight from our fields to your table.
Tours last 90–120 minutes and are fully outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather! Spring in Minnesota can be unpredictable:
- Recommended: Mud boots (or sturdy, waterproof footwear) and farm-appropriate clothing that can get a little dirty.
- If it's remotely chilly: Layer up with snow pants, jackets, gloves, and hats—it's always better to have too many warm clothes than not enough!
Important Notes:
- This tour is not wheelchair accessible, and it's not stroller- or wagon-friendly due to uneven terrain, woods paths, and farm conditions.
- Those with strong aversions to farm animals or typical farm smells may want to skip this experience.
- Our tours are highly informative—we love answering all your questions and sharing knowledge about our animals, sustainable farming practices, and the art of maple syrup making. You'll leave with new insights and appreciation for where your food comes from!
Due to a high number of no-shows and cancellations in past years, we kindly request a suggested donation of $5 per person to help keep these educational tours going.
